In 2010 the ‘Dance in Motion Academy- Centre for Dance and Performing Arts’ opened allowing students to gain outstanding dance and performing arts tuition in a professional environment.

Over, the past twelve years the ‘Dance in Motion Academy’ has developed a very extensive timetable offering a wide range of professional tuition in many dance and performing arts genres, offering students the opportunity to train for examinations professional performances/shows and competitions across the UK and Europe.

Principal and Founder

Miss Gemma

Miss Gemma's love for dance started at an early age. She started attending regular dance classes from the age of 2.

Miss Gemma's love for dance started at an early age. She started attending regular dance classes from the age of 2 and before long was taking classes 5 nights a week and all day Saturdays. She became an assistant teacher at 14 and gained her first teaching qualification aged 16yrs. She became fully qualified at 18 whilst she was studying for her A-levels.

She continued to further her dance teaching qualifications and studied at Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama gaining qualifications with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) alongside completing her degree in 'Sports Studies and Physical Education' at the University of Worcester. During her time at university Miss Gemma was the founder and Chairperson of the 'Dance Society' for three years. Throughout her degree it became more apparent that her true passion was to teach and she specifically enjoyed combining the knowledge of her degree into her dance teaching practice.

After opening the Academy and teaching for several years Miss Gemma continued her studies with the Royal Academy of Dance and gained RAD RTS (Registered Teachers Status). She is a fully qualified teacher with the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance), I.D.T.A (International dance Teachers Association) and is able to enter students for exams in all dance genres offered at the Academy. The Academy has a 100% pass rate and she also trains students/teachers for professional level teaching examinations with fantastic results. In addition, she is also a teaching member of many other dance organisations including the N.A.T.D (National Association of Teachers of Dancing), I.S.T.D (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) and is also qualified to enter students for examinations with these associations.

Throughout her dance life Miss Gemma has performed in many shows, festivals and competitions. She has enjoyed regular appearances at Malvern Theatres including roles in 'There's No Business Like Show Business', 'Memory Lane', 'Snow White' and many more.. She has also performed lead dance roles at the 'Swan Theatre', 'Roses Theatre' and 'Hippodrome' in pantomimes including 'Dick Whittington', 'Cinderella' and 'Peter Pan'. After taking a break from competing whilst at university, she still had the desire to perform. More recently she has competed at the Nationals (Telford, 2013), Southern Class (Eastborne, 2014), Bring it On (Paris, 2015), Spring Sensation (Worcester, 2016). She also regularly appeared on the pitch at Sixways performing with her 'Cheer Elite' team who provided pre-match and half time entertainment for Worcester Warriors Matches. She also enjoys performing in the Magical Disneyland Parade in Paris with her students annually and she performed in Los Angeles in 2017 with her senior students on the Main Stage in Disneyland California.

Miss Gemma's experience of teaching is wide ranging - She has taught BTEC Level 2 and 3 at Hanley Castle High School, The Chase School, Pershore High School and John Masefield High School. She has also taught in many educational establishments including primary, middle and secondary schools, colleges and local universities. She has also worked with a wide range of young people within the community from teaching after school clubs to providing tuition at local groups which include children and adults with special needs and disabilities.

In 2010 Miss Gemma opened the 'Dance in Motion Academy' allowing her to provide professional facilities for all of her students. Since this time, she has trained many students to complete examinations, perform in shows and compete in National and International competitions. More recently she is very privileged to have trained students to represent 'TEAM ENGLAND' in Vienna at the ECU Championships. In 2017/2018 Miss Gemma was very honoured to have been selected as the Head Dance Technique Coach for Team England Pom who competed at the ICU championships in Florida.

Miss Gemma is very thankful to all who have helped her achieve her dreams including her family, teachers, students and parents. She wants every student to enjoy dancing and will strive to provide a safe, friendly and professional environment for all.

Miss Bryony

Miss Bryony's love for dance started at an early age. She started attending regular dance classes from the age of 2.

Miss Bryony's love for dance started at an early age. She started attending regular dance classes from the age of 2 and before long was taking various classes from Ballet to Hip Hop and Tap to Pom.
She became an assistant teacher at 14 and gained her first teaching qualification aged 16 yrs at the Dance in Motion Academy and completing her IDTA Level 4 Classical Ballet qualification at 18 whilst she was studying for her A-levels. She has completed various qualifications with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association), BGU (Building from the Ground Up), NATD (National Association for Teachers of Dancing) and ID-Dance.
Miss Bryony has trained students for examinations, performances and various competitions both in the UK and Europe.
Throughout her dance life Miss Bryony has performed in many shows, festivals and competitions. She has enjoyed regular appearances at Malvern Theatres and has competed across the UK in Regional and National dance championships. She was also a member of Team England Pom Dance from 2016-2018 and Team England Jazz from 2018-2019, representing her country at the ICU Cheer and Dance Worlds in Florida, USA. In 2016 she also represented Team England with the Dance in Motion Academy in Jazz at the ECU championships in Vienna and in Los Angeles in 2017 an 2019. She still competes regularly at the IFDPA championships in Paris.
Over the years Miss Bryony has won many prestigious awards including 'ICE QUEEN' for Hip Hop and Lyrical in 2017/2018/2019, Young Female Sports Personality of the Year 2019 and Grand Champion placings in many competitions from 2015 -2021.
Miss Bryony is very thankful to all who have helped her achieve her dreams including her family, teachers, students and parents. She continues to further her training as a dancer and teacher at the Dance in Motion Academy and looks forward to what the future holds.

Miss Millie

Miss Millie spent her childhood in Worcester studying drama and performing arts and continued to develop a true passion for the industry.

Miss Millie spent her childhood in Worcester studying drama and performing arts and continued to develop a true passion for the industry. She was also a member of many drama groups, including Vamos young people’s theatre company in 2014. This is a mask theatre company where she performed in the production of the “Projectionist” which was funded by the (Heritage Lottery Funded project.) Miss Millie continued to perform locally in many amateur dramatic performances.

As a teenager Miss Millie joined the Dance in Motion Academy (never too late to start) where she discovered her love for dance. Throughout her time at the Academy she gained many graded and vocational examinations in Classical Ballet (IDTA) and Tap (NATD). Miss Millie also attended classes in Jazz and Musical Theatre. She regularly appeared in annual shows with the Academy at Malvern Festival Theatre, charity performances and took part in many dance/ performing arts trips.

Miss Millie decided after completing her A-Levels that she wanted to gain a degree in Musical Theatre. After a successful audition, she went on to train at The Hammond School in Chester. She gained a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre Performance.

During her time at The Hammond, she took part in daily Dance, Drama and Singing classes furthering her training and knowledge in all areas. She has been very lucky to participate in a range of performances including Musicals, Plays and Showcases during her time at The Hammond. Miss Millie is currently a Member of the National Youth Film Academy 2021, allowing her to continue her training with film industry professionals on a regular basis.

We are very excited that Miss Millie is returning to the Academy as a Teacher and she can't wait to share her passion of Dance and Performing Arts with you all. She continues to complete regular CPD and further courses to enable her to be the best teacher she can be!

Miss Molly Tyler

From a young age, Miss Molly has had a passion for performing. She started attending stage school when she was 4yrs old and also took classes in ballet and tap.

From a young age, Miss Molly has had a passion for performing. She started attending stage school when she was 4yrs old and also took classes in ballet and tap.
Miss Molly had many different opportunities and performed in various pantomimes every Christmas and performed at the NIA in Birmingham.

At 10yrs old Miss Molly auditioned for the Midlands Choir, this was a fantastic experience as she sang around the country in competitions representing the midlands. Over the years she has also performed at Birmingham Symphony Hall, Cruffs on live TV and performed a solo in 'Gypsy Blood' at Dury Lanes West End Theatre. Miss Molly has also played the role of Mrs Wilkinson in 'Billy Elliot' the Musical in the Stratford Upon Avon Theatre.

Deciding to further her performing arts training, she completed a 3yr professional Musical Theatre Diploma at Stella Mann Performing Arts in London. During her time at Stella Mann, she taught at a local dance school taking classes in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. After graduating Miss Molly went on to gain her first professional contract in Spain working with RJP entertainments. During this contract she was able to fulfil her love of dance and singing every day, she even performed as 'Sandy' in Grease on musical night. When she returned to the UK, she also worked at Alton Towers scare fest and CBeebies land performing in regular daytime shows for children. She also worked on the TV program 'Midsummer Murders', as an extra in various TV roles along with appearing in an advert for Odean Cinemas.

Miss Molly has been teaching dance classes since 2018 in Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Street, Jazz, Ballet, Pre School Ballet, Cheerleading, Tap, Pom Dance and Gym. She also has a true passion for teaching singing! Miss Molly loves teaching and working with children and adults and she loves how much enthusiasm and passion they bring to each and every class. She believes students thrive from positive energy and seeing how much joy performing/ dancing brings to each student, makes Miss Molly very proud to be a teacher in the industry.

Miss Molly continues to further her training and is very excited to be passing on her knowledge and experience to all of her students at the Academy.
